Another amazing CAPS conference in Charleston, South Carolina, this year. Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the whole country, and we made sure to check out some of the many famous spots around town. Poogan’s Porch, Toast, Husk, and High Cotton all kept us well fed (and counting the days until we can return).
Many of us did a ghost tour. Definitely not my favorite thing in the world. I don’t find any enjoyment in being scared…and it was pretty freaky. Lots of gravestones and flickering lights. Now that I’ve knocked that off my bucket list, I’m not exactly dying to do it again. The Mills House, which is a Southern Style Charleston Hotel in the Historic District, is also apparently haunted.
The Vendor Night at the Alley was such a fun outing. We played skee-ball, basketball, ping pong, old school arcade games, and bowling, with great participation from everyone there. Thanks to Rhonda Jackson for all your help!
The next night was fantastic, and I couldn’t believe how many people dressed up for the Roaring ’20s. Flapper dresses, lots of feathers and pearls, some gangsters, and a ton of suspenders. The dance floor was hopping! The the caricature artist did a great job bringing out the fun side of our faces, too.
I can’t wait until next year. Congratulations to Sara Beth Caldwell for winning the $100 Amazon gift card!
