Creating new locum tenens assignments
Once you log in, there are two simple ways to create a new assignment for temporary locum tenens. You can either click the “Get Started” button on the home screen or click the “Create Assignments” button located within the Assignments tab.
When adding a new assignment to LocumsMart, you’ll be given a variety of fields to input information into. Here are just a few of the fields available:
- Dates coverage is needed
- Final decision deadline
- Number of providers you are requesting
- Work schedule
- Practice description
- Facility description
- Physician skills checklist
Keep in mind that while filling out all of the fields is not required, providing as much specific information as possible allows vendors to more effectively recruit the right candidates for your need. Including all the relevant info up front also prevents the need for back and forth phone calls from multiple vendors, requesting the same information over and over.
Submitting new locum tenens assignments
Once you’ve entered your new assignment, the next step is submitting it. On the submission page, you are given the option to submit to as many or as few vendors as you prefer. All vendors are automatically pre-selected, as we strongly believe that the best way for you to get your job filled is to have as many people as possible out there recruiting for you.
There are of course times that you may only need to present to one vendor, like when you are looking for a specific provider you’ve worked with in the past through that vendor. If you do choose to only submit to one or two vendors at first, you can always come back to the submission page and resubmit to additional vendors if necessary. (You’ll see the vendors you’ve already selected as greyed-out, to keep you from submitting to them again.)
Automatic submission process
Jobs are submitted to all available vendors automatically in two specific cases:
If it has been three business days and there are zero active provider bids.
If it has been 5 business days and there are less than 3 active bids, and less than 1 provider has been accepted per provider requested.
Tip: The day you submit your job is considered day zero and not day one.
If for any reason you don’t want your jobs to be submitted to a particular vendor, an admin user from your organization can uncheck the “Allow Leads” box in the contract settings for that vendor. This prevents you from submitting to that vendor, whether manually or automatically. This can easily be reversed by unchecking the same box in contract settings.
The LocumsMart job posting and auto-submit functionality was created with you in mind. We hope you find that our simple process provides more efficiency and saves you time in your recruitment process for temporary locum tenens.
